About Us
We met using an online dating app, and decided to meet in person for a coffee date. We had an instant connection in person and arranged for a second date the next night. After leaving the coffee date, Megan texted her friends to tell them she met the man she was going to marry! Mark romantically proposed during a concert, and we were married in NYC in front of our family and friends.About Mark: I grew up in the Washington DC area with my parents. We have a large Filipino extended family rich with customs and traditions, and we are all very close. Football is a big part of my family, as is tennis. I like to collect sports memorabilia and Funko Pops, and I am passionate about traveling. I graduated with a degree in non profit management and I love my job as an administrator at a charter school where I’ve worked since 2009.About Megan: I grew up in Chicago with my parents and my sister. Both of my parents come from large families, so my childhood was full of many cousins and fun family traditions. I am very close with both sides of the family and we spend time with each other as much as possible. I love to read, drink coffee, spend time with my friends, go to the beach, play games, and watch movies. I have a degree in early childhood education and I’ve been a kindergarten teacher for 16 years! Teaching young children is my passion in life and there is nothing I’d rather do.
Our Home & Community
We live in New York City, and we have taken advantage of all the fun activities this city has to offer. We enjoy going to see Broadway shows, watching baseball and basketball games, going to concerts and movies, and more. We live in a safe, lively neighborhood and our home is nursery ready! In our neighborhood we are able to walk to a large beautiful park as well as many restaurants, stores, museums, and street festivals. Some of our favorite neighborhood experiences include many date nights with walks around the city, eating at delicious restaurants, and special events like a donut fest and a bakery where we made custom cookies of Mark’s face! We like tennis, so it is a treat to go to the US Open each year for Mark’s birthday! Both of us come from large extended families with many cousins who grew up together and remain very close. Megan’s mother and her sister married two brothers, so they have a unique situation with relatives on both sides of the family! Both families enjoy each other very much and are happy to have been joined by marriage. Our generation has begun to add children to their families, and we look forward to raising a child among a large, close knit group of cousins. While our families live across several states, we visit each other often, talk daily, and spend holidays together. Our families have many traditions, including visits to childhood parks, family game nights, and many holiday traditions- especially at Christmas! We look forward to sharing these with our child and introducing our child to Filipino customs and foods.
